Web/UI Developer
We are launching a new web-based product. You will be entering this project from the beginning. You will be in charge of handling all internet-based aspects of this project. This includes composing HTML/CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, embedding videos, slicing up layered Photoshop files, uploading files to the webserver, etc.
In addition to implementation of all of the aesthetic aspects of the website the project will eventually require integration with our primary website, which is written in PHP with a MySQL backend. We will be integrating with several third party vendors you must show initiative in learning to integrate with their software, communicating with them and troubleshooting problems. This will require excellent organization and communication skills, as well as no small amount of patience.
You will be working in a beautiful setting, in the heart of Santa Monica, in an office that has panoramic views from the city to the ocean.
Responsibilities include:
* Developing the presentation tier and database back end of new large-scale sites.
* Maintain and expand current member based web properties delivering video content.
* Convert IA/UI layouts to fully-functional web sites
* Integrate site-level features with dynamic services on the back-end
* Define server-side requirements to architect appropriate solutions
* Optimize and tune the experience for optimal performance and user experience
* Ensure browser compatibility across the supported platforms
* Quickly resolve production issues and defects as they arise
* Working with a team of content developers, making sure the content will function adequately on the web (proper format, not too large, etc.) Quickly incorporating the content into polished web pages for review and revision.
* Translating flowcharts, diagrams, other media into the actual websites. You will be responsible for taking the âBig Pictureâ� and converting it into the functions and features necessary for a successful product.
* Figuring out the software and APIâs of all of supporting vendors. Becoming an expert at integration with each of them and assisting the other team members to take advantage of the services offered.
* Continual profession development in all areas of web technology that impact the project or which affect our competitive advantage.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 5-8 years of Web Development experience
* Absolute mastery of MySQL, PHP, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, HTML, and DHTML.
* Proven ability to work with members of third party vendors and development teams
* Ability to multi-task and manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
* Experience using libraries and frameworks like Ajax libraries â JQuery â in JavaScript
* Familiarity with Perl
* Experience working in a relational database based environment (particularly MySQL)
* Familiarity with XML

* A can-do attitude and desire to work closely with a team to produce a polished result
Must be local to the Westside of Los Angeles
Hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
