We are seeking a talented web developer to join our growing team and work ONSITE at our comfortable office space located in the heart of Venice Beach.

To be considered for this position, the candidate MUST possess the following qualifications:

  • Expert in PHP

  • Expert in MySQL

  • Expert in XHTML, CSS

  • Expert in JavaScript and AJAX

  • Excellent SEO proficiency.

  • Highly proficient with Photoshop

  • Understanding of DNS and A Records

  • Working Knowledge of Mod_rewrite and .htaccess

  • Ability to setup a web server from scratch (with and without PLESK and CPanel)

  • Knowledge & proficiency with all forms of social media

  • Is an expert in WordPress

  • Has the ability to deploy websites very easily

  • Design skills are also a major plus.

Your duties will be to implement, manage and extend the capabilities of our client and internal websites along with various IT duties.

We are looking for someone who is serious about their work, but has a great sense of humor as well and is comfortable working as part of a small, closely-knit team of professionals.

Job Description:

This position is responsible for defining and building custom products to support multilingual requirements of Fortune 1000 customers. This is primarily a development role with a strong focus on development methodology and process. This role requires the ability to communicate with multiple aspects of the company including developers, system administrators, sales, marketing, customers and various levels of executive oversight.

This position requires hands on development skills, strong command line administration skills, and the ability to work with various scripting and programming languages. Strong familiarity with XML, understanding of working with a SOAP APIs and REST APIs, strong enterprise content management skills and substantial experience working with an enterprise web stack.

The ideal candidate is both process oriented and seasoned in customer interaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Developing customized translation systems to meet customer needs, while ensuring customer data integrity
• Direct client interaction with Fortune 1000 customer base to improve the system development process
• Identification of challenges and implementation of solutions to improve translation quality
• Development of specialized translation components

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants should have a degree in Computer Science or equivalent technology specialty and/or equivalent professional experience. Desirable industry experience of 7 + years with enterprise application development, enterprise content management, Web 2.0 or technical professional services consulting. Strong ability to architect and implement solutions in Perl, Python, Ruby, PHP, Java, C++ or other programming and scripting languages.

Excellent time management, interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and technical skills required. The candidate must have the ability to demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and to think beyond “outside of the box". Job Description:

This position serves as the bridge between Language Weaver’s Product/Marketing team, our professional services organization and our sales organization to help qualified prospects become customers. The Sales Engineer is responsible for liaising with Fortune 1000 clients before, during and after a sale. He or she will manage trial accounts and licenses as well as perform product demonstrations via telephone, web conferencing and in person. Further, the incumbent will assist in the drafting and preparation of proposals and RFP’s, for both commercial and government customers and prospects. The sales engineer will be responsible for technically qualifying a customer during the sales process and in assisting the customer craft a solution that will then be handed off to professional services for implementation post sales.

This position requires hands on development skills paired with the ability work strategically with the sales and marketing teams, assist in the closing of a sales process and work strategically as a bridge between Language Weaver and a prospect at multiple touch points in the new customer lifecycle. Strong familiarity with content management solutions, knowledge of a web stack and an ability to write and interact with a rest API will be necessary.

The ideal candidate is both process oriented and seasoned in client facing positions. A firm grasp of iterative customer interaction models is also required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Assist with crafting proposals, RFP’s and related documentation for government and commercial customers
• Troubleshoot customer problems before, during and after integrations
• Management of trial accounts and trial licenses
• Presentation of products to potential customers and assist with closing of new accounts

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants should have a degree in Computer Science or equivalent technology specialty and/or equivalent professional experience. Desirable industry experience of 4 + years with content management, Web 2.0 or professional services consulting. Broad knowledge of web and Microsoft technologies. Strong ability to architect and implement solutions in Ajax, PHP, Perl, C++ or similar.

Excellent time management, interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and technical skills required. The candidate must have the ability to demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and to think beyond “outside of the box". The candidate will work with a diverse team of computational and experimental biologists and will be responsible for developing a new generation of open-source web-based tools for analysis, visulization, and modeling of complex datasets. This is a temporary full-time position.

Job Duties:

Contribute to the development of an open-source web-server application (CRdata.org) that uses R as its computational engine, Javascript to manage the client-side interface, and Python to interface to Apache and R. Our resources run on the Amazon Elastic computing Cloud (EC2) and optimizing our use of EC2 will also be an important part of the candidate's work.

The candidate will develop sophisticated, robust, high performance, and scalable web-based applications within the above framework.

The candidate will be supervised directly by Hamid Boulori and work closely with our existing team comprising a statistician, a research software developer and a large number of on and off site collaborators. We offer flexible working hours, the opportunity to telecommute part of the time, and a nuturing and stimulating working environment.


Basic Qualifications:

Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines and 3 years experience in Javascript programming and 2 years experience in Python and Django. Intelligence, good communication skills and team-spirit are crucial.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Software Design Patters, JQuery, Apache, and R, and familiarity with biology and bioinformatics would be desirable but not essential
